"For a lot of new students it's not unusual for them to miss their families, for some of us it's actually a relief to be here though. Guess it all depends what kind of home you come from. "Hehe, no I had my fair share of being the one put in a trash can, frankly at my old school that was a nice day. Never want to see anyone get put through the same things I went through. If you need help finding your way back to the dorms I've still got plenty of free time, I'd be happy to show you." This was assuming he was even in the dorms instead of off campus but most new students were typically assigned a room at least for a while even if they were going to live off campus. Besides on the way he could still show him a place or two that was important around the school.

Verdy smiled, happy to start walking the new student back up toward the dorms. "So I guess you're coming to this school from a fair distance away, not right in town? Heh, when we get to the dorms you'll have to at least tell me which room is yours or I might accidentally lead you to the wrong place. Could always stop by my room though if you don't remember the right one."
And he could call Drake up and ask him, or something. Hopefully that wouldn't be necessary though, not that he'd mind a guest in his room for a while.

"Heh, don't worry about it. Well let's head on up to my room then, probably isn't too far from your own so heck you'll probably get a few good chances to visit. The door's pretty much always open if anyone wants to hang out." Though his room would probably surprise the younger student, and he wondered if the kid thought he was cool or just friendly... he never really thought of himself as cool but hey maybe he just never knew it. He smiled, leading the way to his room and hoping it wouldn't be disappointing or anything.
